For most of us, working out after a 8 hour work day may seem impossible. Most of us rather go home and rest or catch up on our favorite TV shows. Some of us have children to take care of and just don’t have the extra time.

Well, if that’s you and you want to know how to wake up and work out before starting these draining task, then stay tuned!!!

Tip #1:

Get enough sleep/rest the night before. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends adults get an average of 7 or more hours of sleep. For some this may seem like a lot, if you have children, night job, or have studying to do. But it is very important that you try to get the necessary amount of sleep so that you can wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and ready to move your body.

Tip #2:

Wake up with intention and purpose. I know it can be hard getting up early when you just want to sleep in and get those few extra minutes. Trust me on this one, if you put your alarm clock on the opposite side of the room, you have no choice but to get out of the bed to turn it off. Once you’re out of the bed stay out of the bed and get moving.

Tip #3:

Prepare everything the night before. Get your workout clothes, sneakers, and headphones out the night before so that you won’t take extra time looking around for those items. Most importantly, have your pre-workout snack prepared. Pre-workout snacks can include oatmeal with fruit, slice of whole wheat bread with peanut butter and bananas, or even mixed nuts. These food will give your body the necessary energy it needs to get through your workout.

Tip #4:

Turn on some hype music while getting dressed and get ready to kill your workout.  If music isn’t your thing, you can always listen to a motivational podcast, or heck just sing out loud. Whatever you do, make sure it boost your mood and gets you prepared for the workout you are about to do. I know the hype music may sound a little cliché, but it works for me.

Tip #5:

Do something active that YOU love! You don’t have to go to the gym and run on the treadmill or do a whole bunch of squats. You can go to a yoga class, run around the block, walk in the park, or even workout in your background yard or living room. Whatever form of physical activity that makes you happy is what you should do. This is your fitness journey! Be confident in yourself and challenge your body each and every day.

Find what moves YOU!!!
