This summer, we’re partnering with some of Philly’s best fitness professionals to provide 6 weeks of FREE fitness programs that you can participate in from home. These classes require little to no experience or equipment. All you need to do is mark your calendar, clear out a small space, grab your mat (or towel), some water, and log-in! Check out the class descriptions below or scroll to the bottom for a full calendar.

Body Up, Cool Down with Uncover YOU

Avante Bailey offers workouts that tone your body – with no equipment needed.

These 30-minute workouts include aerobics, core work, calisthenics, and boxing. Avante offers an easy-to-follow exercise program for all ages and fitness levels. Read more about Avante Bailey here.

Yoga with Roots 2 Rise

If you’re looking for exercise that’s low-impact and rejuvenating, try yoga with Roots 2 Rise. Roots 2 Rise is committed to making yoga accessible for all and offers free and low-cost classes on multiple social media platforms.

Instructor Loren Thomas will offer a Tuesday morning Rise and Stretch all-levels vinyasa class. This class has options for a more gentle session and opportunities to push yourself. The focus will be on stretching, moving, and breathing to prepare yourself for the day.

Instructor André Coles will host a Saturday afternoon Yoga for All class. Whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced yogi, there’s something here for everyone. Students will learn to use the physical body as well as the breath to move through their practice.

Zumba™ with Physique Fit Personal Training

If Zumba™ is more your style, consider taking classes with Zheat Fitdance’s Shannan Reese, a licensed Zumba™ Fitness Instructor is opening space in her virtual classes for you! These classes are great for any ability level.

Shannan’s motto – dance is about passion, not perfection! Check out this link to preview classes and to learn more!

Total Body Fitness and Rhythmic Fitness with Doris Swarn

If you’re looking for a full body workout, try Total Body Fitness with Doris. The program targets every part of the body and goals are set at the beginning of each session. Join on Zoom if you need help with form and want motivation from others, or join on Facebook where you can follow along without being seen. She will also help participants track their progress throughout the weeks. No equipment is needed, but weights and bands can be used if desired.

Doris will also offer Rhythmic Fitness which features dance aerobics choreographed to varying music genres. Each class includes themed playlists including the 80’s, hip hop, salsa, Afrobeat or pop.

Midday Meditation Reset with Coach Lee 

If you’re looking for something to help reset your mind and body during a busy day, join Wellness Coach, Yoga Instructor, and Run Trainer, Coach Lee for a Midday Meditation Reset. This 30-minute Wednesday afternoon class is a great way to take a mid-week breather.

The class will use stretching and meditation to combat the physical impact of working from home. Simple and accessible stretches will be used to unlock the muscles that become tense from a virtual meeting overload.

Virtual Off the Couch 5K Training with Coach Lee

Looking for the motivation to start running? The Virtual Off the Couch 5K Training offers gentle 5K (3.1 mile) interval training sessions for beginners or people returning to joyful movement during this pandemic.

Meeting twice a week virtually, participants will be led through walk/jog cycles to slowly increase their endurance and distance to complete 3.1 miles. Walkers are also welcome to complete the program to improve distance and speed.
